【名人访】英特乐Rebekah Lemm:中国自动化市场已经愈加成熟

近几年,伴随着中国制造业的快速发展,中国物流装备市场需求急剧增长,众多外资企业看重了中国市场的潜力,进入中国。美国英特乐公司(intralox, l.l.c.)作为全球最大的模块塑料输送带(mpb)制造商,自然也非常看好中国市场。在今年的亚洲国际物流技术与运输系统展上,英特乐携手最新产品直线分拣机亮相。英特乐的核心业务是什么?它所擅长的行业和技术优势是什么?能为中国客户提供什么服务?本网记者采访了英特乐传送带上海有限公司的亚太区总经理贝丽卡。

【Soo56】:欢迎收看Soo56的名人坊栏目!今天我们栏目邀请来的嘉宾是英特乐传送带上海有限公司的总经理Rebekah Lemm。Rebekah Lemm您好,首先想请您简单介绍一下贵公司今年的一个业务体情况。

贝丽卡:好的。我们英特乐公司的主要业务是制造各类传送设备和自动化设备;除此之外,我们还专业生产模块化塑料传送带,以及具有分拣、靠边与合并等功能的特殊机械设备。

【Soo56】:那么在这一次的CeMAT展会上,贵公司带来了一个什么样的新的产品和新的技术?

贝丽卡:在本届的亚洲国际物流技术与运输系统展览会上,英特乐首次展示了我们的直线分拣机,这款基于辊带技术平台的专用分拣机不仅能够减少占地面积,而且能够提高精确度,进而提高分拣流量。也就是说,这款设备将成为物流公司提升生产率的得力助手。

【Soo56】:英特乐现在擅长哪些行业,包括贵公司服务方案及能力的优势是哪些?

贝丽卡:我们的产品线与价格都极具多样性。实际上,我们在中国的多个行业也均有涉足。多年来,英特乐一直在轮胎制造业占据着主导地位;但与此同时,从全球的角度来讲,我们也是肉类、家禽、海鲜加工、烘焙业、罐头生产业等多个制造门类的佼佼者。

最近,自动化设备也开始在物流、仓储、电子商务和包裹处理等领域得到广泛应用,例如顺丰速运、UPS之类的公司都已经引进了自动化设备。

只要某个行业需要移动产品的位置,就必定能够看到英特乐的身影;而我们的独特优势则是取决于我们所权衡的技术及行业趋势。

【Soo56】:您是如何看待中国目前的自动化市场的?

贝丽卡:我们认为中国市场非常有意思。目前,中国市场正处于全新的发展阶段。在我看来,它已经变得愈加成熟;在这里,我们不难发现,制造商和物流企业做出的决策更加理性、看待业务的眼光也更加长远,而且也纷纷开始重视总体经营成本。因此,我认为,这块业务将成为我们未来增长的重要组成部分。

【Soo56】: 近两年因为工业4.0的提出,包括中国智能制造,中国的物流市场前景特别广阔,那么英特乐在中国的市场定位是什么样的?有没有好的机会?

贝丽卡:要知道,英特乐的宗旨不是成为一个紧跟潮流和趋势的公司。我们的很多客户需要频繁地运送货物,而我们真正重视的就是能为客户带来什么价值。因此,对我而言,工业4.0只是一个全新的发展阶段;迈入这个时期后,我们要学会如何提升生产力与自动化水平,同时我们也要继续坚持我们以往的追求——了解客户的需求、提供真正创新的解决方案,从而为客户创造价值,以上这些就是我们的看法。

【Soo56】: Hello, welcome to the Soo56 Celebrity Interview program. Today we invited Ms. Rebekah Lemm, General Manager of Intralox Conveyor Belts (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Hello, Ms. Rebekah Lemm, first of all, would you please briefly introduce your company’s business performance this year?

Rebekah Lemm: Yes, our business is in conveying and automation equipment, and we make both modular plastic conveyor belting and we specialize in specific machines that are sorting, aligning, and merging, and that sort of thing.

【Soo56】: At the CeMAT of this year, what new products and new technologies have you brought to the visitors?

Rebekah Lemm: Yeah, we are showing for the first time at CeMAT our straight-line sorter, which is based on our activated roller belt technology platform, and it is a specialized sorter that reduces the footprint that allows a higher degree of accuracy with good throughput. It improves productivity in logistics facility.

【Soo56】: So which industries does Intralox specialize in, what are your service solutions and ability advantages?

Rebekah Lemm: Yeah, so our product line and our offer are so diverse. We are actually in a variety of industries in China. We have particularly been a dominant player in the tire manufacturing industry over the years, but we also globally are a leader in meat, poultry, seafood processing, in the bakery industry, in can manufacturing, in a wide variety of manufacturing industries.

And then also recently with the automation equipment moving into the logistics, warehousing, e-commerce and parcel handlings, so companies like SF Express and UPS, those sorts of companies.

We really play in a wide variety of industries, anywhere that a product has to be moved, and yeah, our differences depend really on the technology and the industry that we’re comparing to.

【Soo56】:What’s your view on the current automation market in China?

Rebekah Lemm: So we find the China market, I think, very interesting. It’s at a new stage in the development of the China market.I think it’s becoming a more mature market where we see that manufacturers and logistics players are starting to make more rational decisions; they’re thinking very long term about their businesses now, and they’re starting to really value cost of ownership, and so the business is becoming, I think, an important part of our growth in the future.

【Soo56】:So in the recent two years, due to the proposal of Industry 4.0, including Intelligent Manufacture in China, there are tremendous potentials in China’s logistics market, so how about Intralox’s market positioning in China? Are there any good opportunities?

Rebekah Lemm: You know, I think, so we don't tend to be a company that follows fads and trends. I think what we look at is where can we bring value to our customers, and many of our customers are moving goods around frequently, and so industry 4.0 to me is really the next stage is how to get more productive, more automated, and so we just continue to do what we’ve been doing, which is understand what our customers need, and then provide really innovative solutions that bring values to those customers, that’s how we see it.
